Crime at Tech :-s

To reassure you all, I haven't been feeling unsafe here. But the news items are not realy cheerful. Today a post-doc got stabbed by an ex-Ph.D.-student with a Samurai sword! It happened on campus in the early afternoon.

Since the shootings at Virginia Tech some years ago, we also have an emergency notification system on campus. This means that if something alike happens, we get notified by email and phone to stay inside. The irony wants that only in the morning we had a test of the system and received a test email and phone call. In the afternoon nothing happened. Social networking sites as Facebook and Twitter did a better job in informing the student network!
